Administration Rescinds Foreign Student Visa Guidance

In view of coronavirus and universities online-only classes, prior policy returned.

Newly issued guidance from Immigrations and Customs Enforcement would have forced some international students to transfer schools or leave the United States if their classes were held completely online in the fall.

After immediate broad backlash and lawsuits backed by more than 200 universities and 18 states, the Trump Administration has rescinded that guidance.  One such lawsuit was brought by Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At a hearing on Tuesday morning, ICE announced the decision to rescind and said it would return to the policy it had in place since March.

The schools agreed to the change and the lawsuit was settled.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the foreign students who will be able to stay in the U.S. and continue their studies.
  • About all of the issues to be resolved before students in any age group or location can return to in-person classroom education.
